Our story began in 2016 while we were both studying chemistry at Mount Allison. Sam was in his first year and I was in my second. I picked up a job as a teaching assistant for the first-year chem lab to make some extra money, and Sam was one of my students. While we only spoke a handful of times that semester, it’s crazy to think that we noticed each other even then, completely unaware of what was ahead.
A year later our paths crossed again. We had our first date over coffee at Cranewood café in Sackville and the rest is history. Three years ago, Sam proposed on a hike in the mountains and since then, life has taken us in some exciting new directions. I switched career paths and started my first year in law school while Sam landed an exciting internship alongside his PhD.
By the time we get married, we’ll have been together nine years. So much has changed in that time, yet we’ve only grown closer and more in sync. We bond over our love of learning, our two (cat) children, and our shared goofiness. We can have fun doing just about anything.
With busy schedules and student budgets, we realized what mattered most to us was a laid-back celebration with the people we love. So, we decided to elope and celebrate in a way that feels simple and true to us!
